IHD attends the third meeting of the Health Cluster



As part of the World Health Organization's (WHO) plans to hold routine meetings for the health cluster group in Syria, Idlib Health Directorate attended the third meeting of the Health Cluster. This meeting included the participation of representatives from organizations operating in the health sector.
The meeting, attended by Idlib Health Director, Dr. Zuhair Al-Karrat, and the WHO coordination officer, addressed several pressing issues related to the health sector, including:
The regular update of the service map in northwest Syria, identifying the main gaps in light of reduced support. Cervical cancer cases and recommendations from the reproductive health unit emphasizing the need to include screening for the disease as part of investigative procedures. Discussion of response mechanisms for displaced Syrians coming from Lebanon. The Early Warning Network and mechanisms for preparedness and response to seasonal influenza in the coming weeks. Mental health and the need to integrate it into other health services and ensure it reaches all populations. Updates on WHO's plans for supplying medicines and consumables to partners. In turn, Idlib Health Directorate presented an overview of the emergency plan it has developed in coordination with health facilities to respond in case of any military escalation in the region. Additionally, they discussed the upcoming scabies control campaign and the referral network associated with the campaign.
