In coordination with the Idlib Health Directorate and partner organizations working in the health sector, and with the presence of the World Health Organization, the Health Cluster group held its second meeting in northwestern Syria as part of the group's monthly coordination meetings.

During the meeting, Dr. Zohair Al-Karrat, Director of Idlib Health, provided an update on the major gaps faced by the health sector in the region, emphasizing the importance of enhancing coordination regarding the update of sector-related data with partner organizations, and focusing on the necessity of identifying health priorities.Humanitarian organization representatives, along with the WHO, discussed issues related to funding shortages, health gaps, mental health, as well as preparedness and response to epidemics, particularly in light of the spread of monkeypox in various parts of the world.

These discussions aimed to strengthen epidemic surveillance capabilities and improve emergency response readiness.This meeting is being held for the second time in northwestern Syria, reflecting the importance of enhancing coordination among various local and international health entities. This increased coordination enhances communication efficiency and allows for a deeper understanding of the actual challenges and needs facing the health sector, ultimately contributing to improving the quality of services and response.#Idlib_Health_Directorate
