In the context of ongoing efforts to promote mental health and support the community in facing psychological and social challenges, Idlib Health Directorate completed the first step of the Advanced Problem Treatment Training, which included 22 mental health workers, and the Suicide Prevention and Response Training, which included 19 trainees. These two trainings aimed to enhance the capabilities of mental health specialists, social workers and healthcare workers in identifying psychological problems, developing effective strategies to deal with them, in addition to providing support to individuals suffering from suicidal thoughts.

The Advanced Problem Treatment Training included multiple axes that aimed to: - Introducing Advanced Problem Treatment, and providing modern strategies and techniques to help individuals deal with daily psychological problems in constructive and solution-oriented ways. - Suicide Prevention and Response Training - Effective tools that enable trainees to recognize early signs of suicidal thinking, and how to provide urgent and appropriate support to prevent it from occurring - Developing an effective response to suicide cases by equipping trainees with the necessary skills to deal with potential cases and respond to them in a way that enhances the chances of survival and supports affected individuals. These trainings will be followed by focused supervision sessions lasting for three months to ensure that the training has had an impact in developing the trainees' experiences and the extent to which they have acquired the necessary technical skills and applied them optimally with the beneficiaries within their work.
