General Definition
The IHD Quality Control Department was established in 2016. It is one of four departments reporting directly to the Idlib Health Director due to its importance. (Figure)
What are the objectives of the Quality Assurance Department, and what does it consist of?
It aims to improve health services by applying international quality standards to all health facilities operating in NWS. This is being done through three function sections
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E): A specialised team prepares reports to measure service quality, with specific indicators for each type of facility.
Policies and Procedures: IHD works to align policies with global standards, covering areas like infection control and waste management.
Accountability and Complaints:IHD handles complaints and has mechanisms for feedback and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).

Implementing partnership projects as a third party monitor on several programs and projects for local and international organizations
Preparing a strategic plan for the quality of health care at the primary care level in cooperation with PCI and funding from the European Union
Building and strengthening quality systems in several health facilities supported bylocal organizations
